Friday’s Feature: The Grand Couturiers at Bridal Couture Week 2012

Bridal Couture Week’s finale ended with a big bang: 14 of the most renowned designers came together to put on a show-stopping performance.

Amir Adnan - I love this silhouette... on a girl!

Bunto Kazmi. My favourite designer... and this is one of my all time favourite outfits/combinations by her. I've seen it on many brides but I always love it

Deepak Perwani

HSY

Maheen Khan - My least favourite piece of the bunch

Mehdi

Neelo Allawala

Nilofer Shahid - I like velvet but I'm not sure if any bride would want it around her chest. Can't imagine how much sweating would go on under that heavy fabric!

Nomi Ansari

Rizwan Beyg - I heart this!

Sana Safinaz - gawjus. I really like the pretty pink

Shamaeel Ansari

Kamiar Rokni

Umar Sayeed

Considering the number of high-end designers that teamed up for this finale, I expected more. I do love some of the pieces that I saw at BCW though – YEAY to fashion!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 – Day 1

Ooh yeah – it’s time to drool over pictures from Bridal Couture Week! YEAY!

Day 1 – slightly disappointing although I did like some pieces :) While I did like Nomi Ansari’s collection the most, I thought some of the outfits were redundant from last years BCW.

What's with the patch of gold in the middle? An unflattering look for most brides!

Bridal Couture Week 2011: Mona Imran

Before I start sharing the pictures from Mona Imran’s collection, I thought I’d give everyone a quick update on my wedding planning:

I had a complete freakout session on the weekend. Don’t judge me! The reason I panicked this time is because I found out that 2 vendors that I liked were booked for my wedding day!! Obviously, I started to stress majorly because this means that I need to get my butt moving and finalize things – or else I won’t be working with vendors of my choice. Don’t worry, this time I’m not just freaking out without taking any action. I have booked numerous meetings this week/weekend and have been calling EVERYONE. It’s hard finding the right person for the right price though – darn, WHY do us Pakistani’s have 3 day weddings again?! Anywayy…. onto CLOTHES (oh right, I wanted a 3 day wedding because I didn’t want to compromise wearing 3 outfits! Sigh).

I hope you had the chance to look at Kosain Kazmi and Gulzeb Asif’s collection. It’s time to have a look at Mona Imran now! :)

My thoughts: the colours are definitely more subtle than the previous 2 collections I posted. I’m glad the softer nude colours are still in – I’m totally getting a few nude coloured outfits for my jahaiz InshAllah!

Ooo lookie - who's in the doli?!

Duhh.

Check out the guys in the back haha

Bridal Couture Week 2011: Gulzeb Asif

Time to showcase another designer from Bridal Couture Week!

I have only come across this designer once before so I’m not extremely familiar with her work. Her collection at Bridal Couture Week did not wow me at all – I don’t see any innovative cuts, colours or style.

By the way, another trend I have noticed and love: soft colours are in for Spring/Summer 2012!

Bridal Couture Week 2011: Kosain Kazmi

Do you know what time it is? It’s time to drool over some gorgeous Pakistani bridal wear!

This week, I’ll be posting pictures from Bridal Couture Week that took place this past weekend in Lahore.

From the pictures I’ve seen so far:

  • Bride-to-be’s: sigh of relief – long shirts were all over the runway!
  • Colour, colour, colour: bold and bright colours are totally in. If you’re having a summer wedding, take full advantage of the amazing colours our culture is known for :)

The below pictures are from Kosain Kazmi’s collection – to be honest, I have never heard of this designer before! I do love his colour choices.
